Lil Bunny Passed Away Peacefully
Anthony Harley, known as “Little Benny”, died on 30th May 2010 in Washington D.C. His age was 46. According to Washington Post, Little Bunny, who was one of the pioneers of funk music and did several experiments to give it a new shape in 1980s, passed away without any prior medical condition. He died peacefully during sleep. He was staying at his brother’s residence on 30th may, 2010.
He was found dead when other relatives tried to wake him up in the morning. There is no apparent cause of his death right now. The cause of death will be known after the autopsy and other medical tests. But the death is being taken as ‘normal’ ruling out any foul play. The news of his death was confirmed by his life-time friend, Keith Galloway. Keith Galloway was not only the intimate friend of the deceased but also his business partner. He told that Harley died after going to bed but he could not tell the cause of his death.
Little Benny was a vital member of the Rare Essence music band. He played trumpet for the band. He gave a new life to city’s conventional style of funk music and earned enormous popularity. According to critics, he was the pioneer of go-go music in 1980s. The go-go music was the amalgamation of conga drums, cow bells, and call-n-response chants which attained the boom of popularity when Chuck Brown introduced and then Little Benny followed it.
According to reports, fans are in a state of shock on his sudden and pre-mature death and deeming it a great loss to the music industry.
